We advise that you minimize the number of times that you shampoo while have braids, cornrows or twists in the hair. There are several products on the market that will enable you to do a dry shampoo in between a regular shampoo. We suggest that you do a full shampoo with a stocking cap covering the braids or twist every 4 weeks.
The transition from perm to natural hair may take between 6 and 12 months. During that time it is best that the hair shaft is stable and a minimization of the regular grooming, since regular grooming during the transitional period could lead to hair breakage. We believe that the hair shaft is best stabilized in braids or twist during the transition.
Yes, if you decide to leave hair left out with the right products you will only have to flat iron your hair once a week for touch ups. We also offer a Design Essentials STS temporary Straightening treatment or partial relaxer where only your leave out is relaxed to make it more manageable. You also have the option of not leaving any hair out lace closure, full (separation of hair), invisible part, and we also offer crochet braids.
Yes, we recommend coming into the salon for your maintenance every 2 weeks we shampoo your hair with sulfate free shampoo condition and dry your hair and braids under a hooded dryer for about an hour to ensure your braids dry properly flat iron and style as desired for $20. Tightening maintenance services is recommended 4 weeks after your install.
